Shopping Trip - Vacation

Well, I honestly have no idea what my overall savings percentage was this week. We are on vacation and I am shopping at stores I don't typically shop at home. I have no pictures of my deals because I am busy taking pics of my beautiful princess at the beach. However, we had to buy a week's worth of groceries for 6 adults and one child. We plan to eat out 3 nights and the rest of the week we will cook dinner here at the condo. I am trying to purchase these items on a $150 budget although I am prepared to splurge a bit. We brought lots of unperishables with us, so that definitely helps. Another thing that helped us is the fact that there is no sales tax on food in Florida, which is a huge savings. I also didn't list my deals for this week (sorry). I plan to get back on track with that next week once we are back home.

Target: Here I bought only lunch meat, cheese and Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs. The Target coupons are now expired so these deals are no longer valid.
Regular Price: $31
Savings: $16.20 or 52%
Total OOP: $14.82

Publix: I don't typically shop here at home because it is a bit out of my way, but I might change my mind. The BOGO deals are pretty good since they let you use 2 coupons. We also got several other items here including milk, bread, meat and vegetables. I was able to get a sneak peek over at www.publixforpennies.com and that helped me plan ahead.
Regular Price: $94.69
Savings: $28.89 or 31%
Total OOP: $65.80

Walmart: Apparently they don't list your savings on your receipt, so this is what messed up my calculation. This purchase also included a $2.50 pair of flip flops. I did splurge at Walmart and bought my favorite granola bars even though they weren't on sale and I didn't even have a coupon. It pains me to pay full price but I figured why not. We are on vacation after all.
Total OOP: $74.22

CVS: I had a $5 off $30 purchase coupon that I was trying to use and I started out with 10 ECBs from a previous week.
Regular Price: $40.31
Total OOP: $11.42 + 10 ECBs
ECBs earned: 19.98
Savings: $38.87 or 96%
Actual Cost: $1.44

Walgreens: I had 10 RR that were expiring this week so they had to get spent on something. The vitamins were a good way to roll them to another week. I also grabbed a few bags of Chex Mix ($1) to snack on at the beach.
Regular Price: $18.10
Total OOP: $1.10 + 10 RR
RR earned: 9
Savings: $17.00 or 92%
Actual Cost: $2.10

Grand Totals: Overall, on the groceries, we came in at $155, only $5 over what I had originally planned. I was quite pleased with that. My drug store purchases were only an additional $3.54.

I plan to get back on track with all my posts next week. I am even going to be adding a Mid-Week Deals section for stores like Publix and Food Lion who start their ad in the middle of the week. Stay tuned...

Upromise

What is Upromise?

Basically, Upromise can help you save for your child's education or (in my case) help pay back student loans. Upromise helps you save for college on everyday purchases such as gas, groceries, dining out or shopping online. You can also invite your family and friends to sign up and help you save too. They can allocate a portion of their savings to be deposited in your account automatically.

How does it work?

Join Upromise FREE and register your contact information, grocery/drug store loyalty cards and credit cards so they can track your savings. Then you simply shop for participating products at the grocery store or shop online at the stores you love. They also have a dining program for local restaurants as well. A portion of your qualified purchases will automatically be deposited into your account.

What are ecoupons?

Ecoupons are loaded onto your shopping card directly from the Upromise website. When you purchase the participating product, that coupon amount will automatically be deposited into your account. Upromise ecoupons are accepted at most grocery stores nationwide, particularly those with a loyalty card.

How do I sign up?

It's easy and FREE. Simply visit Upromise online and follow the step-by-step instructions.

Shopping Trip - Saved 56%

We are leaving for vacation on Friday, so I didn't want to buy too much this week. Most everything I bought went straight to the freezer or stockpile shelves. I cheated and used some of our grocery budget for a few things we needed for our trip. I also needed a new ink cartridge from printing all the great coupons that have been out the last two weeks. Here are the deals I found. If you woul like to see individual store match ups, please see my post here. If you have questions, I am here to help. Please e-mail me at couponqueendiaries@gmail.com.

TARGET: Some of these deals are the same as last week. My Target finally had the mayo in stock, so I got 4 of those ($0.49 ea). I also did the cheese deal ($1.09 ea) and the lunch meat (1.74 ea) deals again. I got the Wheat Thins FREE with my puchase of Ritz ($0.54). Last but not least were the Always pantiliners ($0.44 ea).

Regular Price: $29.20
Savings: $17.64 or 60%
Total OOP: $11.56

KROGER: I think they raised the price on the BBQ sauce ($1.49) but it was still free after my coupons and Catalina, so I got it anyway. The grill spices and rice cakes were FREE and the soap was close to it ($0.30 ea). Since the hot dogs were still on sale and I had coupons left over, I got more of those ($0.99 ea). I also got more Dr. Pepper because $2.50 is about the cheapest I have ever been able to find it.

Regular Price : $63.98
Total Savings: $34.38 or 54%
Total OOP: $29.60

GRAND TOTAL:
Regular Price: $93.27
Total Savings: $52.02 or 56%
Total OOP: $41.61

NOTE: I also have a $2 Catalina (BBQ sauce) for next week.

Stay tuned for next week as I try to challenge myself to shop with coupons on vacation in stores that I am unfamiliar with. I will be buying for 6 adults and 1 child (more than double what I am used to). We have obviously set up a special vacation budget and plan to splurge a bit. However, I still plan to work the deals to get the most for my money!

Shopping Trip - Saved 56%

Note: For details on coupon matchups, please see this post under Weekly Deals.

Target: I wanted the mayo really bad but my store was out. Most of these prices were their everyday price but still a good deal because of combining mfg coupons and store coupons. I will probably get these same things next week too since the store coupons don't expire until 5/23.

Kroger: All of my Cellfire, PGsaver and ShortCuts E-coupons worked perfectly today. Also, please know that my hubby is a late night snacker hence all the frozen food items. Even so, you can still get a good deal on those products if you wait for them to be on sale and apply a coupon at that time.

Regular Price: $75.62

Total OOP: $39.94
