Unadvertised Deals, Updates & Notes

I was out shopping today and wanted to bring your attention to some unadvertised deals and shopping notes. Click the store name to see more matchups/deals.

CVS: Well, my CVS was out of almost everything I wanted today. I was bummed! On a good note, it has been confirmed that the limit on the Oust bonus pack deal has been increased to 6! I hope my store gets these soon. There is also a new $5 off $20 printable available. My store also had Christmas clearance at 75% off.

WALGREENS: Don't forget about the Bayer deal I told you about here. My store had the Bayer quick release aspirin on clearance for $2.19. I used to the $1 Qs from 1/3 SS to make this a MONEY MAKER! You can mix and match these with the meters if you have those Qs as well. Here are some other unadvertised deals.

Nabisco Chips Ahoy Cookies 6 oz, $0.99
-Earn 2 RR WYB 2
*2 FREE

Glade Fragrance Collection 2 oz, $2.50
-Earn 3 RR WYB 2
-$3.00 WYB 2, Dec. ALL YOU Mag or 11/22 SS
*MONEY MAKER: $1.00
>Also eligible for $5 SC Johnson rebate

Ritz Crackers, $0.99
-$2.00 off WYB 2 printable
*2 FREE

KROGER: First of all, there are rumors circulating that select Kroger stores will be matching the Harris Teeter Super Doubles scheduled to start tomorrow - next Tuesday. I will alert you to this as soon as it is confirmed. I was shopping today for just a few things and also doing some price shopping to prep for potential Super Doubles. I came across their Christmas clearance marked 75% off. However, they had tons of housewares and children's games also marked 75% off. I found some awesome treasures. I stocked up on Bunko gifts and kid's birthday presents. Most of the items pictured below were $4 or less.

OTHER NOTES: Because we just had 2 holidays it is likely that your store's "truck day" has changed. You might want to check with store personelle to see when they will be receiving their new shipments each week. I always make sure to know this as it helps me plan my shopping days. I like to go when they are most likely to have everything I want because I don't like making multiple trips.

Shopping Trip - Saved 94%

This was my 1st shopping week of 2010 and I am already off to a great start with much thanks to all the MONEY MAKER deals going on at Walgreens right now. Despite multiple trips for items out of stock and the crazy snow day, which had me way off my routine, I am starting off the year under budget. Nice!!

WALGREENS & CVS: FREE items were candles, cookies, aspirin, glucometer. I also bought lunchmeat (1.33), cheese (0.83), salt (0.50), hair color (3.99). Not pictured is the Bayer deal from last week. At CVS I bought hand soap (0.64).

Trip #2 for WALGREENS: FREE items were Cookies, Crackers, Electrasol. I also got more lunchmeat for 1.33 each. My store didn't have the Aquafina. :(

FOOD LION: I bought milk (2.64), juice (1.50).

KROGER: I bought cantaloupe (1.50), jelly (1.69), buns/bread (0.88), apples (0.88 lb), bananas (0.59), salad (1.29).

Kroger Trip #2: Saw my fave bars on clearance so I came home and found Qs then loaded up ecoupons. They also have a Catalina printing. Final price is (0.89).

ALDI: Here I picked up items that my hubby needed for his trip this weekend, AKA Man Camp (Don't ask me. They are nuts to be camping in this weather). Potatoes (2.49), raisins (1.49), carrots (0.99), peppers (1.49), taco shells (0.99), cheese (1.89), vienna sausages (0.39).

Regular Price: $352.55
Savings: $331.51 or 94%
Actual Cost: $21.04 + Aldi* $11.77 - ECP** $1.28 = $31.53

*I intentionally add in Aldi separately since there is no way to calculate my savings (no coupons, everyday prices, ect).
**ECP: Supplies for my daughter's school, which I am reimbursed for.

Notes: I also submited for the SC Johnson $5 rebate with the candles I got from Walgreens. Overall, not too shabby for my 1st run of 2010. I also made it my goal to reduce our weekly budget to $50 per week (down from $60). This may take a few weeks for me to get used to but I believe I can do it.

Did your shopping go as planned this week or was it crazy like mine? Did you stay within budget?

2010 Sunday Coupon Preview

I hope you remembered to pick up several newspapers today. It included 5 coupon inserts!!! I got 2 this morning and plan on getting more this week at Kroger if they have any left. Remember, Kroger sells the Sunday paper all week and reduces the price to $1 on Mondays.

The general rule for stockpiling purposes is to buy 1 newspaper for each member of your family. Why? Because the more coupons you have, the more times you can work a deal! I always buy 2 every week without fail.

If you are anxious to know which inserts to expect in your Sunday paper for the rest of 2010, check out this list from Sunday Coupon Preview. If everything goes as planned, the next BIG coupon weekend will be March 28th. However, Proctor & Gamble doesn't always follow the rules, so their insert schedule could be subject to change. Typically, there are NO coupon inserts on holiday weekends.

Nature's Bounty Coupons

Nature's Bounty vitamins are frequently on BOGO at many stores and CVS/Walgreens often have ECB/RR deals on them. Nature's Bounty has an online Healthy Rewards program where you can redeem points for high-dollar coupons ($2, $3 or $5). Today, I ran across a great post that has tons of codes to earn you points. Remember, that you can enter each code twice. When you redeem your points a coupon link will be emailed to you and you should be able to print each coupon twice.

It only took me just a few seconds to have enough points to redeem for the $5 coupon (500 points). I was able to print 6 (WOW!) coupons from the Bricks link.
