For the past few weeks, I've been using some of my weekly grocery budget to purchase items to restock the pantry of a local food bank. My MOPS group thought it would be fun to turn this service project into a friendly competition. I am happy to report that the food drive was a great success. Together we brought in 883 items! Whoo Hoo! Would you be shocked if I told you that my small group lead the pack with 331 items? :) I am so proud of all the ladies who worked to bring in each and every item. I know those groceries will be greatly appreciated. Here is a picture of my group gladly accepting our prize of Ferrero Rocher Chocolates (how did they know those are my favorites?)
I feel so very blessed to be a part of the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group in Hermitage. It was the 1st place that accepted my raves AND rants about motherhood with an open mind. Before I attended an actual MOPS meeting, I thought it was just a glorified play date. Oh no. This is ALL for the Mammas. This year's meetings have brought us some amazing speakers, fun games, a pampering spa day and encouraging fellowship all while our kiddos are being cared for by wonderful Moppets workers. Yeah, we've had a few playdates too. If you are looking for a place to be real with other mommies about the highs and lows of motherhood, then I strongly encourage you to check out MOPS. Heck, if you're in my neck of the woods, you can join us the 2nd and 4th Friday each month at 9:30 am.

I very much miss your MOPS group.. I was part of it for a year (fall 2007-spring 2008) while I lived with my mom during my hubby's deployment. I still keep up with a few of the ladies and miss them, and the rest of the group, very much. I have joined 2 different MOPS groups since leaving there (yes, I have moved twice since spring 2008), but it's just not the same. I am also enjoying keeping up with your blog. Thanks!!
